CLC Cornhole Tournament: Compete for your chance to be crowned the MCA cornhole champion! The MCA’s Construction Leadership Council (CLC) is inviting all Summer Outing participants to join in on the fun during their annual cornhole tournament. The bag tossing starts at 5:00pm during the Wednesday evening reception on August 12th. There is a small entry fee, and the winners walk away with a cash prize! The CLC is dedicated to developing the future leaders of Montana’s construction industry. With meetings several times a year across the state, the CLC provides its members with opportunities to develop their leadership and communication skills.

Pickleball anyone??: New this year is the CLC Pickleball Tournament. Don’t want to golf or shoot? Only have time for a few hours rather than a couple of days? Them we encourage you to come out and play some pickleball with us! Meadow Lark has a fantastic pickleball facility, and equipment will be provided if you don’t have your own. You’ll be able to register for just this activity on its own – add on other activities like receptions, meals, or the Friday finishing barbecue. You don’t have to be a member of the CLC to participate – this activity is open to all MCA members. Come out and have some fun while learning all about the MCA’s Construction Leadership Council.

Golf Scramble & Best Ball: Known for its fast, undulating greens, Meadow Lark Country Club’s course features the “River Run,” spanning holes 15 to 18, and finishes with a demanding approach along the river. The course will host the MCA Summer Outing scramble and Best Ball competition this year. Tune up your game during Thursday’s opening round and submit your individual score to be eligible for Best Ball prizes. During Friday’s scramble, foursomes will be set using golfer handicaps and Thursday scores. Trophies are awarded to the MCA’s winning scramble team during Friday’s BBQ at the conclusion of the event. On course prizes will be awarded for each hole and make sure you visit with MCA member hole sponsors as they will be handing swag, snacks and beverages during your rounds.

Trap Shooting: The Great Falls Trap & Skeet Club has 14 traps, a skeet range, a rifle & pistol range, and PAT traps. They offer Canterbury voice calls and ERAD voice release system. Day or night are both acceptable as there are nine fields with lights. For our MCA members that would prefer to spend a couple days blasting away at some orange clays rather than chasing around a white golf ball, this is the event for you! Stick around for Friday’s “Annie Oakley” competition to find out who is the sharpest shooter in the Association. Trophies are awarded to top two-person team. Afterwards, shooters are invited to head over to Meadow Lark Country Club for more prizes and the Friday barbecue.

Thursday Evening Banquet & Calcutta: After Thursday’s activities, participants and attendees will gather at Meadow Lark Country Club for an evening of entertainment, including a reception, banquet, competitions, raffle, and the main event – the Calcutta. Golf and trap teams will be announced and auctioned off to the highest bidders. Remember — you must have cash to participate in the Calcutta! The MCA Associates Division is responsible for putting on the Summer Outing, and all proceeds generated are used to fund the Associates Presidential Scholarships for high school graduates and current college undergraduates. This year, the Associates awarded twelve scholarships in the amount of $2,000 each to recipients whose parents or guardians are members of the MCA.

Putting Competition, Raffle, Heads & Tails, and more!

Back again this year is the Putting Competition! During Thursday’s round, each player will have one attempt at the designated putt setup on the practice putting green. Each player that makes the designated putt will qualify for a more difficult putt on Friday. If one player makes Friday’s putt, they will take home $1,000! If one or more players makes the putt, they will split $1,000 in cash prize (i.e. if one player makes, they win $1,000, if two players make the putt, they each win $500, and so forth). If no players make the putt on Friday, then the player with the putt that comes to rest closest to the hole will win a $100 cash prize. In addition, Summer Outing participants also have the chance to walk away as winners during Thursday evening’s Associates gun raffle, as well as the hilarious Heads & Tails competition!
