Awards Categories; How to Apply
Each year, the MCA takes time recognize the exceptional work of its members and honor those who have excelled at their craft in the categories of building, concrete, environmental, highway, partnering, and workforce development. These Awards are presented in January at the MCA Winter Convention.
- Concrete Excellence: Subcategories include — Water/Sewer/Utilities; Agricultural Concrete; Bridges; Paving; and Industrial Commercial.
- Highway Excellence: Subcategories include — Best Paving & Smoothness/Volumetric & Density; Best Urban/City Project; and Best Rural Project.
- Building Excellence: Subcategories include — Commercial, Institutional, Best Specialty Contractor Project, Industrial, and Best Historic Restoration.
- Environmental Excellence: One category covering Water Quality, Air Quality, Energy Efficiency/Renewable Energy Development, Habitat Restoration/Enhancement, and Waste Management.
- Workforce Development: presented by the MCA Education Foundation: Presented to the best program and/or event that focuses on getting people interested in working for your company or the construction industry in general.
- Company Safety: New this year, this award will recognize outstanding achievements for company-wide safety protocols, procedures, and results for 2025.
- Safety MVP: Have an employee who is the model of safety for your company? Nominate that individual to receive the MCA’s first-ever, Safety MVP award!
- MCA/MDT Partnering Excellence: Partnering excellence between MCA contractors and the Montana Department of Transportation is recognized for both Level 1 and 2 partnering projects.
